MATT EINSTEIN
Hometown:
Harrisonburg, VA
Car: 2006 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup
Race series/class: PCA GTC4
Experience: DE’s since October 2003, did my first PCA Club
Race in October 2007 at CMP in my 2000 Porsche GT3 Cup. Since then
I have done the following PCA Club Races: 2008 – Sebring, Road Atlanta,
Mid-Ohio – all in my 2000 GT3 Cup. Then when I bought my 2006 997 GT3
Cup I did Summit Point in October 2008, then for 2009 – Sebring, Road
Atlanta, Watkins Glen, VIR
Podium finishes/awards:
1st place at CMP in 2008, 3rd place at CMP 2008, Novice/Rookie Driver
Award at CMP 2008, PCA Hard Charger Award Road Atlanta 2009, 1st place
at VIR in 2009, 2009 Workers Choice Award at VIR
License(s) held: PCA Club Racing
Most memorable moment at/on the track:
One thing that comes to mind is in the 2nd Sprint at VIR in June 2009. I
started in 5th overall and 2nd in class. Then I “ran out of room” at the
start going into turn 3, went off track and spun a few times while the
entire field passed by. Greg was on the radio saying “it’s okay, just
drive”. I drove my hardest and at the end of the sprint I finished
4th in class. It was the most satisfying sprint I have done to
date and when I received the 2009 VIR Workers Choice Award it made it
even better!
